Colleton River Plantation
Bluffton,
South Carolina

Colleton River is set off from the rest of the world by a
1,700-acre nature
preserve and is distinguished by its 36 holes of golf and
elegant lifestyle.
Description
Colleton River Plantation Club is
one of South Carolina’s most prestigious private golf
communities located 1.5 miles from the bridge to Hilton Head
Island. It is a place of great natural beauty with towering live
oaks, Lowcountry marshes, tidal creeks, lakes and magnificent
views of the Colleton and Chechessee Rivers as they flow into
Port Royal Sound.
South
Carolina’s Lowcountry is known for its natural beauty, and
Colleton River Plantation Club occupies one of the finest pieces
of land in the area. Picture 1,500 pristine acres surrounded on
three sides by water with over seven miles of scenic shoreline.
Members enter the community through a 950-acre nature preserve
that buffers Colleton River from the vibrant activities of
Hilton Head Island and the town of Bluffton, just moments away.

This ideal location is just minutes from the water, shopping
and more.
Colleton River Plantation Club
Choose
from waterfront homes with deep-water docks on the Colleton
River, homes adjacent to natural lagoons, homes overlooking the
golf courses, or homes with views of the river and the
ever-changing salt marshes. Several multi-unit cottages are also
available for members and their guests.
Wooded
homesites feature beautiful single-family homes with diverse
architecture that blends gracefully into the elegance of the
surrounding land.

Colleton River is a Platinum Club of America, ranking No.
13 in the nation’s best residential communities.
The
heart and soul of the Club are its two championship golf
courses, designed by Jack Nicklaus
and
Pete Dye
and both ranked by Golf Magazine's “Top 100 Greatest Courses in
the U.S.” And, if you enjoy tennis, swimming, hiking, biking,
fishing, and boating, it’s all here. There’s
also fine and casual dining at two clubhouses, a Golf Learning
Academy, a member library, art classes, a community dock, even a
social community for dogs.
Colleton
River is a private club, owned and operated by its members
through a member-elected Board of Directors. It is situated on
more than 1,500 acres, with a low density of only 705 homesites,
offering a variety of marsh, golf course, river and forest
views. Over 300 homes and cottages have already been built and
are occupied full or part-time by members from around the world.

The Colleton River offers access
to Port Royal Sound and the Atlantic.

The Nicklaus Clubhouse.

Nicklaus Clubhouse
The
recently rebuilt Nicklaus Clubhouse is arguably one of the
finest clubhouses in the Southeast. From the stately members’
porch, you can watch your friends finish the final four holes of
the
Nicklaus
Course, and later witness spectacular sunsets over
the Colleton River.
Its
30,000 square feet houses the
health and
fitness center, an elegant fine-dining room, a casual
bar, and a number of small breakout rooms for private functions,
meetings and card groups. The men’s and ladies' lounges are
comfortable gathering spots to recap the events of the day, have
a bite to eat or catch the news. The Wine Room, a smaller, more
intimate private dining room, decorated as a wine cellar, is
also available.
There
is a large banquet room, ideal for special events such as
lecture series, classes and wedding receptions.

The Dye Clubhouse.
The Dye
Clubhouse is charmingly reminiscent of a Southern plantation
home. This two-story structure has 18-foot wide porches
accessed through French doors, large columns, brick arches and
tabby stucco exteriors. Inside, there is a member's bar and
casual dining area, a large, more formal dining room and several
smaller breakout rooms. On the lower level is the Dye Pro Shop,
locker rooms and the Club’s library, with hundreds of books and
audio tapes that are freely shared among the members.
From its
wraparound porches members can enjoy a magnificent view of the
Chechessee River and Port Royal Sound, the marshlands, ancient
live oaks, seabirds and not less than seven of the most
spectacular holes on the
Pete Dye
Course. It is truly a wonderful venue for relaxing
with a cocktail on the porch and a more casual dining
experience.
