You Join for the Golf
There is no question that you come to Reynolds Plantation for the golf. Once a prized hunting and fishing retreat for the Reynolds family, this former land grant from British royalty of 10,000 gently rolling acres in the heart of Georgia is now prized for its magnificent setting for golf.

Details like this extensive stone wall enhance the experience.

Five championship courses—two of which were cited by GOLF Magazine as one of the top 10 new courses in the country on consecutive years—foster plenty of challenge and enjoyment. Other communities may offer varying kinds of amenities, but the serious golfer will make his home here.

The Plantation Course
The Plantation course was the first to debut at Reynolds Plantation in 1988. The layout, a creation of designer Bob Cupp along with PGA Tour professionals Fuzzy Zoeller and Hubert Green, was immediately honored as one of GOLF Magazine's top 10 new courses in the country.

Great Waters by Jack Nicklaus
When the Jack Nicklaus-designed Great Waters course opened in 1992, it garnered the same honor from GOLF Magazine. Great Waters recently has been host to qualifying stages for the Andersen Consulting World Championship of Golf, underscoring what Golfweek has said about Reynolds Plantation—that the "two courses create possibly the best 36-hole golf complex in the U.S."

The Great Waters course that the pros play is 7,048 yards long and will absolutely tickle the spine and test the mettle of any excellent golfer. The front nine weaves its way through forest and rolling hills. Then the dramatic waterfront holes, beginning at the ninth, provide an even more stunning stretch of golf.

In designing the course, Nicklaus was careful to build different sets of tees so that the Great Waters course would be playable for all levels of golfers. He was able to eliminate forced carries and some long-iron approach shots from the shorter tees, while retaining the sight lines that give the course so much of its character. The result is a true challenge that can stretch between 6,545 and 5,082 yards.

Reynolds National by Tom Fazio
From the tips, the Tom Fazio-designed National Course runs 7,015 yards up the northeastern side of the property and sweeps down to Lake Oconee on the back side. The par-72, 27 hole course employs four sets of tees and includes a 12-acre practice site.

A 7,015-yard, par-72 test from the back tees, Reynolds National features two holes directly on Lake Oconee, a 19,000-acre lake that is the second largest in Georgia. Dense forests of hardwoods, pines, flowering wild dogwoods and some of Lake Oconee's most dramatic lakefront topography make the course one of the prettiest in Georgia, if not all of the South.

Introducing the Oconee Course
The Oconee Course was designed by Rees Jones. The championship layout serves as the centerpiece of a new resort, featuring a 250-room Ritz-Carlton Lodge and Spa. It's a course for everybody, says Jones, with major tournament length and forward tees measuring less than 5,200 yards.

Lake Oconee comes into play on five of the holes and four additional holes have lake views. Adding to the beauty of the course is $1 million worth of landscaping of ornamental planting, which peak in each season, particularly in the spring.

The Creek Club
The most recent course to be completed at Reynolds Plantation is the Jim Engh- designed Creek Club Course. Reynolds Plantation's fifth golf masterpiece opened for member play on June 1, 2007.

The Creek Course is Reynolds Plantation's first-ever member only course, and was designed by 2003 Golf Digest "Architect of the Year" Jim Engh. Featuring Engh's distinctive, rolling bunkers, exclusive Zoysia grass fairways and stunning home sites, The Creek Club continues the legacy of golfing excellence synonymous with the Reynolds name.

Homes with Golf & Lake Views
Most of the homesites and cottages now offered overlook either the lake or one of five championship golf courses. Some even offer breathtaking vistas of both lake and golf. You’ll find both year-round residences and vacation homes here that blend with the natural surroundings. Southern Living Magazine chose Reynolds Plantation as home for its renowned Idea House.

Perhaps the most fascinating housing options are to be found at Reynolds's Model Home Center. Here potential buyers can tour four homes and mix and match floor plans, furnishings, and exterior elevations. The option the buyer chooses can then be constructed within Reynolds Plantation.

Outdoor Amenities
In addition to golf, Reynolds Plantation offers a variety of outdoor pleasures—pursue Georgia's legendary largemouth bass, hybrid and striped bass, crappie and catfish in Lake Oconee and take advantage of the dry dock storage facilities and pontoon boat rental at the Reynolds Plantation, Great Waters  and Lake Club marinas.

The marina’s Plantation Point Park provides a private, sandy beach and shelter for residents and guests. There’s the viewing deck overlooking the lake at the Great Waters Clubhouse is perfect for the cocktail hour.

The Plantation Clubhouse features elegant cuisine in the Plantation dining room, or a more casual atmosphere in the Club Room Lounge.
