Over the years, the sleepy fishing village of Stuart, renowned as the Sailfish Capital of the World, has been transformed into an up-and-coming cosmopolitan center with a full range of cultural services and amenities. Chief among its area attractions is the private, member-owned, equity golf, tennis and yacht club, Harbour Ridge Yacht and Country Club.

Harbour Ridge is noted for its natural beauty, and part of the reason is that the community was planned around the area's existing natural environment. More than 75 percent of Harbour Ridge is "green" area and 40 percent has been retained in its natural state. 

Residents receive a great deal of pleasure from walking the miles of nature trails coursing through the community, including a two-mile trail along the mile-wide St. Lucie River. And area wetlands and lakes, including scenic Mile Lake, are active with native wildlife.

Further enhancing Harbour Ridge's lovely surroundings are two championship golf courses, created by two of America's top architects, Joe Lee and Pete Dye. Five sets of tees, gold, blue, white, red, and green, are provided to accommodate all golfers and a combination course of "gold & blue tees," "blue & white tees," "white & red tees," and "red & green tees" offer yet another interesting challenge to all golfers.

The Joe Lee-designed Golden Marsh Golf Course features gentle fairways that wind through and nestle among the ponds, marshes and pines of Harbour Ridge. The course encircles a 35-acre eagle preserve, where two Southern Bald Eagles nested for many years.

Golden Marsh challenges all golfers with yardages from four tee boxes that extend from 5,311 yards (red tees), to 6,607 yards (championship gold tees).
