Tom Fazio’s Home Course
“On the outskirts of Hendersonville.
We built one of our most beautiful golf courses on one of the
most dramatic and challenging pieces of terrain I have ever
seen.” – Tom Fazio, writing about Champion Hills in his book
Golf Course Designs.
Furthermore, he has stated about Champion Hills “I
feel that this is one of the finest mountain golf courses in the
world.”

The course was rated the #9 golf course in NC by
Golf Digest.
Like any artist, master golf-course
designer Tom Fazio is proud of his creations. What makes Champion Hills special is that, of all the
courses he has designed throughout a stellar career, Champion
Hills is his home club. Fazio lives in nearby Hendersonville and is a Champion Hills
member.
“It’s easy to make golf difficult in the mountains,
especially on the Champion Hills site” says Fazio. “The trick was to create a fair, very enjoyable test for
the scratch golfer, as well as the middle level and high
handicap player. Champion
Hills set up easily to accomplish this aim.”

Champion Hills home.
The course is marked by its
beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain location, five sets
of tees and 14 holes that play flat or downhill. And
because of the area's moderate four-season climate, residents
are able to play golf year-round.

Clubhouse and Amenities
The course is complemented by a mountain-lodge styled
clubhouse and the tennis, fitness and swimming facilities which,
along with the course, comprise the private member-owned equity
club. Most
importantly, the course and club are the centerpiece and heart
of one of the premier mountain-golf communities in North
Carolina.
A Masterfully Planned Community
Meticulously planned to maximize mountain and golf views,
each of the 475 home-sites at Champion Hills is also sited to
provide privacy to each resident.
And with an average density of less than one home per
acre, few will share in what is becoming one of the most sought
after addresses in the southeast.

Champion Hills offers all the advantages
you would expect in a premier residential community such as
roving full-time security, tasteful architectural guidelines for
custom homes, and easy access to metropolitan conveniences.

Gorgeous views are conducive to relaxation on the porch.
An Excellent Location
Champion Hills is further blessed by its superb location.
It is only five miles from downtown Hendersonville, a
town that is rich in small-town charm and friendliness, yet is
full of the practical conveniences and cultural opportunities to
which residents of
larger metropolitan areas are accustomed.

For a town of less than 10,000
Hendersonville offers a surprising number of amenities including
fine dining, excellent medical care, a variety of quaint shops
and excellent summer stock theater, to name a few.
Asheville is just 30 minutes away and
Greenville, SC is less than an hour away making Champion Hills
very accessible by air and interstate. With national forests nearby the area offers a storehouse
of outdoor activities such as hiking, rafting, horseback riding
and fly-fishing.
Or try some of the area’s many concerts,
theatre events, craft and art fairs, or just plain antiquing. Little wonder that this area of western North Carolina
has long been a traditional retreat for families as well as a
top-ranked destination for retirees.

Enjoy fine dining at Champion Hills.
Wonderful Climate
Sitting at elevations that range up to 3,000 feet, Champion
Hills has a wonderful four-season climate.
Spring and fall are breathtakingly beautiful and the
summers and winters are extremely moderate.
Golf is played all 12 months of the year at Champion
Hills because extended periods of cold weather are rare.
Daytime highs in January (the coldest month)
average mid to upper 40s, with nighttime lows usually dipping into
the 30s. July and August are
the warmest months, with daytime highs averaging mid 80s, but
nighttime lows will usually cool off into the mid to high 60s.
The moderate winters make year-round living (and golfing)
enjoyable, and the pleasant summers offer a retreat from the heat
and humidity of the lowlands and coastal areas.

Many scenic homesites are available.
A Proven Success
At year-end 2000, the Champion Hills community and the Champion
Hills Club were turned over by the developer (the Branigar
Organization) to the owners and members. Champion Hills is a mature, proven community with all its
infrastructure in place.
For example, all streets are in and have been
constructed to Department of Transportation specifications.
City water and natural gas have been provided to all
home-sites. A truly
unique feature of Champion Hills is its own on-site sewage treatment
facility that eliminates the requirement for septic tanks.

Golf is enjoyed year-round at Champion Hills.
To satisfy the need for high-speed internet
access, both cable-modem and DSL service are available within the
community. More than
275 homes have now been completed at Champion Hills with more under
construction every day.
